Amman Chamber of Industry to hold seminar on privatization

The Chamber of Industry of Amman will hold a seminar on May 4-6 in Jordan dealing with privatization and restructuring in the industrial sector in Arab countries. The seminar will be presented in cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and the Arab Organization for the Industrial Development and Mining (AOIDM).
The seminar aims to study and evaluate experiments underway in Arab countries in order to highlight the importance of inter-Arab cooperation as part of full coordination among Arab economic policies to face international coalitions.
The secretary general of the Union of the Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, Abdel Satar Ashra, said that the seminar will focus on highlighting the importance of privatization amid the transformation being witnessed by Arab countries in restructuring public establishments and encouraging the private sector.
The seminar will be attended by the chairmen of the Arab chambers of commerce and representatives from a number of the Ministries of Industry in the Arab countries in addition to regional and international agencies like the World Organization of Trade, the World Bank, and the International Agency for Industrial Investment.
