Terrorism and drugs to be discussed by Arab Interior Ministers

Jordanian Interior Minister Nathir Rashid, heading an official delegation, will depart to Tunis next Saturday to attend meetings of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers which are to last for four days.
Arab Interior ministers are expected to discuss an extended agenda of 23 terms prepared by the General Secretariat of the council. The most important issues on the agenda will be terrorism, combating drugs, promoting security coordination and the consequences of new technology on crime.
The Ministers are expected to discuss an Arab plan to confront terrorism. The plan is scheduled to cover the upcoming four years from Jan. 5, 1998 to Jan. 4, 2001.
The Third Arab Security Project Plan, covering the five-year period from Jan 1, 1998 to Dec. 31, 2002, will also be discussed by the Arab ministers.
They are also to follow up the second plan concerning developing a common Arab strategy for combating drugs.
