New Moroccan parliament opens today
Morocco, Politics, 12/26/1997
Morocco's King Hassan II is opening the first session of the new parliament today. Political sources expect that the king will speak about the direction in which Morocco will proceed during the coming period.
The speech is expected to include entrusting the Prime Ministry to a politician who will be authorized to form the expected new government during January. The post will probably go to the Socialist Union Party because it won the most seats in recent parliamentary elections.
