Algerian president consults political parties

A party source said that communications were initiated by the Algerian president with the parties represented in the people's council (parliament).
Algerian President Liamine Zeroual met with Boalam Ben Hamouda, secretary general of the National Liberation Party, and Mahfouz Nehnah, the chairman of the Peaceful Society Movement (Hamas).
During this meeting they tackled the general political developments that have taken place lately in Algeria.
The source said that President Zeroual renewed during the meeting his commitment to protecting the political alliance which comprises the National Democratic Assembly, the Liberation Front and the Peaceful Society Movement on which he depends.
The source added that the meeting aimed at presenting suggestions for the 48 members state council members to be appointed by President Zeroual.
