American commercial chamber holds conference about investment in Egypt
Egypt, Economics, 12/22/1997
The American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt will hold an international conference for investment next February in order to increase foreign investment in Egypt and reduce the impact of the Luxor incident's consequences on the Egyptian economy.
Ahmed Shawki, the chamber's chairman, stated that Habeeb El Adely, the Egyptian minister of interior, is the official spokesman for the event, as the conference will evaluate government security procedures. He also added that 700 American investors will attend the conference.
Shawki added that chamber's delegation will visit America on next March 9 to hold meetings with officials and congressmen and to visit industrial cities in America.
The visit also aims at reassuring investors who may have postponed opening offices in Egypt after the Luxor incident.
