Israeli occupation forces break into Palestinian naval site

Israeli military units broke into a Palestinian naval site in the area of Rafah and tried to break into another site in the area of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip.

70 Israeli soldiers tried to break into the first site which consists of two small rooms and and is used for monitoring fishing operations. The Israeli soldiers entered the site and photographed one of the rooms. 5 Palestinian navy soldiers tried to stop the Israeli soldiers leading to a brawl.

Another Israeli military unit tried to break into another Palestinian site but Palestinian naval soldiers and policemen prevented the Israeli soldiers form entering the place.

Palestinian sources described the two incidents as deliberate provocation which aims to involve the Palestinian Police forces in clashes. The sources also said that those incidents show Israeli arrogance and insolence.

The two sites which were attacked are in area (G) which is under Israeli control according to the Self-Rule Agreements, but those two sites were set up to monitor fishing operations through a treaty signed by the two sides.
