Yemeni president invites sultan of Oman

Yemeni President Ali Abdalla Saleh invited Sultan Qaboos Bin Said of Oman to visit Yemen. Saleh had also sent a message to Qaboos in which he expressed his thanks for the warm reception and the hospitality with which he was received in Oman.

Saleh stressed the depth of the ties between the two countries and that the two countries' views were identical on the issues which had been discussed by the two leaders during Saleh's visit to Oman.

Yemeni Foreign Minister Dr. Abdel Karim Al Eriany described the discussions with the Sultan of Oman as very constructive and said that they covered the issues of the regional security and stability in addition to the political issues affecting the whole Arab region including the peace process in the Middle East.

Regarding the Yemeni - Eritrean struggle, Al Eriany said that the two sides exchanged memoranda and that Yemen is currently studying the legal consultations with its legal advisors in preparation for the hearings which will start in January.

He also stated that the international embargo on Iraq, carried out under the pretext of the international legitimacy, is catastrophic on the humanitarian level.
