Free trade zones in Jordan valley
Jordan, Economics, 12/17/1997
Authorities in the Jordan valley will establish free trade and industry zones in the valley with the objective of reactivating trade with Israel and Palestine.
The Jordanian daily Al-Rai quoted the secretary of the authority, Dueid Mahasneh, as saying that the aim of these areas is to attract Jordanian, Arab, and international investments to three areas: Sheikh Hassan crossings in the north, the central region and the north area of Al-Aqaba airport in the south. The paper added to authority will rent land to investors for 30 years.
