Yemeni President for good relations with Saudi Arabia
Yemen-Saudi Arabia, Politics, 12/15/1997
Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh has asked Saudi Arabia to postpone negotiations on demarcation of joint borders.
Yemeni news agency quoted the Yemeni President as saying in a telephone call to the Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah: "If there is no keen interest in our Saudi brothers to settle the question of border demarcation at the meantime, we can postpone negotiation until such a keenness is established."
The Yemeni President stressed the need to eliminate attempts aiming at undermining good bilateral relations. The two countries signed in 1995 a memorandum of understanding providing for normalization of bilateral relations and border demarcation.
