Amnesty International denounces Israeli detention policy

Amnesty International has condemned the detention of hundreds of Arabs and Lebanese in Israeli jails, said the follow-up committee in charge of supporting Lebanese detainees in Israeli jails. The committee added it has received messages of support for the Lebanese detainees issue from Amnesty International branches in America, Canada, Switzerland, France and Germany.
In its message, the Canadian branch said it will address messages to the Israeli government demanding it to hold just litigation to the detainees or to free them. It added that it will invite next January and February Canadian children from 200 schools to launch a solidarity campaign with the Lebanese children detained at al Khiam jail.
Meanwhile, the Hebrew Israeli army radio said that troops and police were put on a state of full alert in towns and populated areas in Israel on the one hand, and the West Bank and Gaza Strip on the other, for fears of the occurrence of explosions on the occasion of the Hamas Movement's l0th foundation anniversary.
