Merger between sugar producing companies in Morocco
Morocco, Economics, 12/13/1997
Sources in the Moroccan Ministry of Trade said that three Moroccan sugar producing companies have merged into one company, called Soral.
The three government-owned companies which were merged are located northwest of Rabat. Soral raised its capital from $20 million to $27 million.
Three other sugar producing companies were merged under the name Sanabel. The mergers were done to reduce production costs and to prepare those companies to be put up for sale to the private sector.
