We are not responsible for Luxor attack: Taleban
Egypt, Local, 12/12/1997

A senior official of Afghanistan's Islamic Taleban movement yesterday denied any connection with militants accused of attacking tourists in Luxor.

Egyptian security sources recently said that one of the militants, Mohamad Abdel Rahman Hussein, had received training in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

"We don't know anything about the killings in Egypt," Taleban spokesman Wakhil Ahmed said.

The Taleban have given refuge to the stateless Saudi Arabia Osman Ben Laden, who is accused by the US authorities of being behind the bombing of barracks in the Saudi city of Khobar, Al Ahram daily said today.
