Detailed numbers of Inter-Arab agricultural exports

Syrian agricultural exports account for the largest percentage of total inter-Arab agricultural exports, amounting to 29%, out of which Saudi Arabia imported about 50%, while other Arab states imported 35%, and the rest went to Algeria 7%, Jordan 6%, Egypt 4% and to Tunisia, Sudan and Morocco.
Second to Syria comes Saudi Arabia, whose exports of agricultural products to Arab countries account for 20% of total Arab agricultural exports. The Gulf states are basically the major importers from Saudi Arabia absorbing up to 90.6% of Saudi output, with the rest going to other Arab states.
Exports of the other Arab countries combined account for 51%, out of which 70% is divided between Jordan, Sudan and Tunisia. Morocco's exports are approximately 6%, Egypt's 4% of total inter-Arab agricultural trade. 30.5 % of Jordan's exports of agricultural products went to Saudi Arabia, 1.5% to Syria, the remaining 68% went to other Arab countries.
Tunisia's exports went in large part to Syria where 23% of its total inter-Arab exports were absorbed. Sudan took 10%, Algeria 8%, Morocco 6%, Saudi Arabia 3% and Jordan 2%.
Of Sudan's agricultural exports 46% go to Saudi Arabia, 23.5% to Egypt, 8.5% to Jordan and 1% to each to Syria and Tunisia.
Egypt exports to Saudi Arabia about 51% of its inter-Arab agricultural exports, to Syria about 15% also, and to Sudan about 2.3%.In other words, Saudi markets alone absorb more than half of Egyptian exports of agricultural products to Arab states.
Morocco's major exports go to Saudi Arabia, accounting for 49% of its inter-Arab agricultural exports, whereas 21% go to Algeria, 5% to Tunisia and only 3% to Egypt.
The breakdown of the composition of inter-Arab agricultural exports shows that live animals, meat and their by-products top the list of exports, constituting 36% of those exports in 1990, of which 22% was live animals, an increase of about 25% over 1980, which was 17.5% for all the Arab countries combined.
Meat, fish and animal by-products constituted only 14%. Syria tops the list of live animal exporting countries to the Arab states, contributing 44% of the total inter-Arab exports of livestock, followed by Saudi Arabia, whose exports of 21% include 7.5% live animals, then Sudan's 7.5 % which include 7.4% live animals, followed by Jordan's 3% of which 5% are live animals and the rest meat and animal products, then Tunisia which exported in 1990 what was put at 1.6% of the total inter-Arab exports of this category and they were all live animals.
Fruits and vegetables rank second in inter-Arab agricultural exports, which make up 26% of the total exports of such products, increasing by 17.6% over the 1980 percentage of 8.4%. Here also Syria tops the list of exporters with its contribution to this category of commodities of 24% followed by Jordan 18%, Saudi Arabia 14%, Egypt 11%, Sudan 4.5% then comes Tunisia with 1%, and Morocco 0.7%.
Lebanon's inter-Arab exports of this category amounted to only 13.5% in terms of its dealings with the states under study. Its contributions to this category are expected to increase due to the stability achieved in the security situation and the realization of peace.
