35,000 employees pensioned off

The Yemeni government is reducing budget expenditure by pensioning off 35,000 employees from state jobs, as part of an economic and administrative reform that has been underway since 1995.
This move will cost the state about 4 billion Yemeni riyals. The state pays annually 2 billion riyals as salaries for pensioners.
