Egypt opposes hasty UN resolutions
Egypt, Politics, 12/10/1997
Egypt on Friday said it opposes any attempts to reach "hasty resolutions" to reform the United Nations Security Council.
The Egyptian delegate to the world organization, Ambassador Dr. Nabil Araby, told a General Assembly meeting that the expansion of the Security Council should not be confined to offering more permanent seats to developed countries at the expense of developing nations.
What is needed was to achieve a balance in the formation and performance of the council, he said, Al-Ahram daily reported today.
