Qatar says no differences over Damascus Declaration meeting
Qatar-Egypt, Politics, 12/10/1997
The official spokesman of the Qatari Foreign Ministry, Fawaz Al Atia, stated that there are no differences over the location for upcoming meetings of the Damascus Declaration countries. He confirmed that Qatar sent the invitations and the countries are trying to fix the date of the meetings which will be held in Doha.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa had stated, before the Saudi-brokered reconciliation between Qatar and Egypt, that the meetings would not be held in Qatar.
Al Atia stressed that Egyptian - Qatari relations are back to normal as a result of the Saudi efforts. He strongly refuted the news that Qatar expelled Egyptian workers from Qatar. He also refuted the news that preparations are underway for a visit by the Emir of Qatar, Sheik Hamad Bin Khalifa, to Egypt.
