Algerian president calls for more efforts to achieve social justice

President Liamine Zeroual urged Algerian judges to exert more efforts to achieve social justice and the strict implementation of the law.
He also said in a speech during the opening of the judicial year 1997-1998 at the high court quarters "that democracy is not an imported good, yet it is a 'practice' in which distinguished national characteristics are preserved."
Zeroual indicated that democracy is not a tearing tool or an excuse for the prevalence of chronic tensions.
He also considered "the state's council elections which are to be held on 25th of current December, are the best answer to those who deliberately defame Algeria's reputation."
