Libyan leader calls for increasing investments in Egypt and Sudan
Libya, Economics, 12/9/1997

Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi called for increasing investment in neighboring countries, especially Egypt and Sudan. He also called for setting up new projects in those countries.

Gaddafi called for increasing Libyan revenue from tourism and increasing the number of the exported commodities other than oil products. He asked all Libyans to combat corruption and bribery and to create new job opportunities in order to overcome the unemployment problem in Libya.

Addressing the popular leaders on the occasion of the beginning of popular conferences in Libya, the Libyan leader condemned the blockade that has been imposed on Iraq since 1992, which affected the Iraqi people so badly that some Iraqis had to sell their bodies for providing their kids with food, he said.

Gaddafi warned against the Israeli attempts to dominate Arab water resources which will jeopardize the future of the development processes in the Arab countries.
