OIC ministers approve Syrian draft resolution

The ministerial meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) on Sunday approved the draft resolution submitted by the Syrian delegation to the conference on the current situation of the Middle East peace process according to Madrid peace principles, UN relevant resolutions and the land for peace formula, which guarantee Israel's withdrawal from the occupied Arab territories.

The approved decision called upon countries which have started relations with Israel in the course of the peace process to reconsider their relations with Israel, in order to force it to abide by UN relevant resolutions, especially Israel's withdrawal from all occupied Arab territories, guaranteeing the national legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and carrying out agreements and obligations reached by the parties concerned in the peace process.

The decision condemned threats by Israeli officials, aimed at bringing the region back to atmospheres of war and impose a fait accompli on Arabs and Moslems.

Meanwhile, the Islamic states foreign ministers meeting approved the draft resolution concerning preserving the unity and security of the Islamic states' lands. The draft resolution submitted by the group of the Arab member states affirms the Arab states' care for the sovereignty and independence of Iraq as well as the unity of its lands and regional safety. The draft resolution also demanded a stop to interference in Iraq as a preservation of Iraq's sovereignty, regional safety and its borders.
