72% of Israeli students believe Arab Knesset members threaten Israel
Israel, Culture, 12/8/1997

Polls organized by the Hebrew University in Jerusalem which questioned 1488 Jewish students from 23 schools in various parts in Israel showed that 30% expressed anti-Arab feelings. 45% of those students are of Russian origin, while the fundamentalists represent 33%, the secular students represent 28% of those who expressed anti-Arab feelings.

The polls also showed that 50.1% of the surveyed students said that they agree on giving Arab residents of Israel rights equal to the ones given to Jews. 72% wanted to deprive the Arabs from the rights of nomination for the Knesset as the Arab members are believed to threaten the security of Israel.

Polls results came to disappoint the Arabs who have been in Israel since before 1948 as many recent surveys showed the increase of hostile feelings toward the Arabs in Israel which have led to many bloody confrontations with the Jewish extremists and terrorists.
