Arab - African gathering in the Emirates tomorrow
Regional-United Arab Emirates, Economics, 12/5/1997

The UAE city of Sharja will witness tomorrow a major Arab-African gathering as it will host the 3rd Arab-African Commercial Exhibition and the Arab-African Cooperation Seminar in which 60 Arab and African countries will participate. The exhibition which is going to be inaugurated tomorrow is held under the auspices of the governor of Sharja, Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohamed Al Qassemi.

The two events will be organized by the UAE Ministry of Trade and Economy, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Sharja together with the Arab League and the Organization of African Unity (OAU). The board director of the Sharja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ahmed Al Madfa, said that the high number of participating Arab and African countries led to reserving the whole Expo Exhibition Center in addition to renting other halls at the request of participating countries.

The UAE had hosted the first meeting of the Arab-African Dialogue in 1976.
