Islamic conference to support Libya and Iran

The secretary seneral of the Arab League, Dr. Esmat Abdel Meguid, called on the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) to form an Islamic committee to work for a unified stand with Libya's position in its Lockerbie crisis with the USA, France, and Britain.

The OIC will hold its summit, in which all the Islamic countries will participate, in Tehran on December 9-11. The summit which will be attended by the kings of heads of all the Islamic states will discuss the Libyan crisis with the USA, France and Britain in addition to the situation in Cyprus. The summit will also discuss unified stand with Libya and Iran in regards to the US Damato Act that puts strict sanctions on companies that deal with either of these countries.

There is a suggestion from the OIC member countries to request the US to compensate Libya for damages caused by a US military attack in 1986 and another Pakistani suggestion to expand the UN Security Council membership.
