Turkish president visits Emirates

Turkish President Soliman Demirel started today his official visit to United Arab Emirates which will last for 2 days, the first by a Turkish president.
Diplomatic sources said that Sheikh Zayed Ben Sultan Al-Nahyan, president of the UAE, will hold wide-ranging talks with the Turkish president concerning bilateral relationships and the various issues in Middle East.
The sources expected that the talks will focus on the difficult situation between Iraq, The United Nations and the US and peace process' difficult development in Middle East.
The sources also stated that Demirel will inform Sheikh Zayed of his country's attitude toward the Turkish troops in north Iraq and the relations between Turkey and Israel and its Arab neighbors, and will try to assure Sheikh Zayed that this alliance is not against the Arabs.
Sheikh Zayed emphasized that the Emirates care about its relationship with Turkey, and Turkey have expressed interest in strengthening commercial ties.
Diplomatic sources mentioned that Dimeral will try to get support from the Emirates for the mutual efforts exerted by Turkey and Iran to persuade Iraq's President Saddam Hussein to participate in Tahran conference
