British nurse serving time for murder in Saudi Arabia gets married
Saudi Arabia, Local, 12/2/1997
In the Greater Court of Dammam in Saudi Arabia, one of the two British nurses who were found guilty of murdering their Australian coworker got married. The two British nurses had murdered their coworker, Yvonne Gilford, at the King Fahd Military Complex in Dahran last year.
Lucille McLauchlan, who was sentenced to 8 years in prison, married her fiancee, Grant Ferrie. McLauchlan's brother, John, and British Consul Luson Ross attended the marriage procedures.
Her husband had arrived in Dhahran last Thursday from London. A small reception was held at one of the police stations and was attended by the other British nurse found guilty of the crime, Deborah Parry, in addition to British visitors who were in Saudi Arabia to visit Parry.
Ferrie, who is from Dundee in Scotland, asked to marry Lucille before the murder and insisted on continuing the procedures in spite of Lucille's imprisonment.
