Registration profession loses importance
Morocco, Business, 12/1/1997
The director of the National Council for Modern Registration in Morocco, Mohamed Al Zamrany, confirmed that this profession is losing importance because legislators have enacted laws that allow writing certain contracts on an unofficial basis instead of stressing the necessity of official registration of those contracts by modern registrars.
He added that registration is one of the professions recently introduced due to the many changes in economic and trade dealings. Its existence in Morocco is still of limited importance if compared with the unofficial contracts. Al Zamrany called for putting into effect a new registration law that will make the registration profession cope with economic and social changes.
Al Zamrany said that Morocco should move to protect registered contracts as files in the courts and the real estate departments are offer better legal protection. Modern registration allows two sides of a registered contract to rectify the content as well as the signatures on the involved contract.
