IESCO conference in Saudi Arabia draws 44 countries

The Emir of Riyadh, Prince Soliman Bin Abdel Aziz, will inaugurate the 6th conference of the Islamic Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (IESCO). 44 countries are to participate in this conference. Most of the Ministries of Education from the participating countries in addition to representatives of numerous international organizations will attend the conference that will be held on December 6-9.

The conference is being preceded by a meeting of the conference's executive council November 29 - December 4.

Saudi Minister of Education Khaled Al Ankary said that the conference is part of Saudi efforts on the Arab, Islamic and international levels within its distinguished position and within the Islamic teachings it follows.

He added that the conference will discuss IESCO's budget, plans and programs through the coming three years. These plans aim to support and develop the scientific, cultural and educational aspects in the Islamic societies. The conference will also discuss the achievements of the IESCO during the past two years.
