Yemeni-Saudi border clashes

Mass media in Yemen and Saudi Arabia revealed that border clashes took place and caused the death of soldiers and several civilians from the two sides. The Saudi daily al Riyadh said Yemeni troops killed Saudi citizens and caused injuries to others when soldiers entered a border village to dismantle a Saudi flag.
The paper added the incident caused the eruption of border clashes between the Yemeni and Saudi troops, but gave no details. Meantime an opposition Yemeni daily last week reported the death of 3 Yemeni soldiers and 6 Saudis in a three- hour border clashes on November 17 and held the Saudis responsible for the confrontation.
The Saudi daily said that a Yemeni patrol broke into the Saudi al Karki village and dismantled the Saudi flag which was hoisted on a girls' school. Clashes between the two countries have been repeatedly reported as the two sides try to negotiate for solving the 63 - year old border disputes.
