Lebanese resistance escalate attacks against Israeli occupation

Israel has continued attacks on areas adjacent to the occupied border strip of south Lebanon. Security sources reported that Israeli tanks on late Tuesday shelled al Mansori coast with 105 mm shells. In the morning Israeli artillery attacked a number of towns and villages with more than 30 155 mm shells.

Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes flew over the Western and middle sectors of the South carrying out mock raids.

In the evening, Israeli forces shelled Mashgara, Ein Ettineh, Midan, Berkat al Jabbour andAbi Rashed Mount. The bombardment was accompanied by heavy machine gun fire, security sources said.

In retaliation, Lebanese resistance forces continued to launch operations against Israeli forces and their allied SLA militias. In a statement released yesterday, the Lebanese resistance said one of its groups attacked a joint Israeli-agents patrol on Konin-Saf al- Hawa road and scattered them with rockets and machine-gun fire, inflicting several casualties.

Another group attacked SLA's position between Etron and Muheibib and clashed with the position's soldiers for 20 minutes. A third group detonated an explosive charge when a personnel carrier was driving on alTeibe town.

A statement issued by the resistance stated that the resistance men attacked Israeli reinforcements in Al Bayada and Al Hamra positions. The resistance announced that four of their men were killed as a result of the battle which occured Sunday with Israeli forces in al Hardoun area. The four dead were identified as Amer Yagi from Teir Harfa town, Ali Akil frorm Lajbin, Ali Rida from Malikie, and Ali Wazni from Meshref farm.
