Egyptian foreign minister holds a press conference

Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa stated that Egypt is following the news of the Israeli proposal regarding troop redeployment in the occupied territories.
Answering at the Foreign Ministry, Moussa said that what has been agreed upon and what is expected from Israel by everybody is the implementation of the redeployment which is part of the second phase of the agreement signed by the two sides. Moussa added that Egypt is waiting to see what is going to happen.
Moussa added that what was said, was that the redeployment would be implemented in three phases and that the areas were specified on the maps, only Jerusalem and tiny areas will be kept for the final negotiations.
Commenting on the Iraqi crisis with the US and the UN Security Council's division on the solution, Moussa said that the Security Council is studying the reports of the inspection committee and the recommendations it contained. He stressed the fact that Egypt is cooperating with the international community to reach a final solution to this crisis. He expressed his hope that this crisis will be solved peacefully through solving all the other problems between Iraq and the Security Council.
Moussa also said that he is going to meet with the leader of the Sudanese People's Liberation Army, John Garang, who is currently in Egypt. Moussa refuted the news that some arrangements are underway to hold a meeting for all the Sudanese factions which would be similar to the meeting of the Somali factions in Cairo.
