Mubarak: no dialogue with killers
Egypt, Politics, 11/25/1997
President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt has called for united world efforts to combat terrorism, saying that if world countries cooperated with Egypt, the Luxor carnage would not have taken place, and that those who carried out these crimes live in Europe.
In press statements following the opening of the Nubian Museum in Aswan, President Mubarak added that terrorists are protected in England and Afghanistan. He asserted Egypt's national unity, adding that Egypt is a secure place and, "Terrorism is an international phenomenon and no one can guarantee the safety for everybody one hundred percent." On the possibility of maintaining a dialogue with the terrorists, President Mubarak commented that there are "no talks with the killers."
