Palestinian president visits Norway: A second Oslo?

A Palestinian source said that Palestinian President Yasser Arafat received an invitation from the government of Norway to pay an official visit to discuss the recent developments in the peace process.

The source said that the visit's aim is to discuss means of enhancing the peace process, especially since Norway has played a major role in starting Palestinian-Israeli negotiations, including the Oslo agreement.

He added that the current circumstances require initiatives from the countries that participated in the first agreement. ArabicNews.com was informed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received an official invitation to visit Norway to discuss the peace process.

The Norwegian foreign minister begins his official visit tomorrow to the Middle East region which will include Israel and Palestine.
