Israel delays French traffic lights to Jenin
Palestine, Local, 11/24/1997
A representative of a French company that donated traffic lights to the city of Jenin, north of the West Bank, blamed Israel for the delay in installing the lights saying that all equipment France has sent had been held in Israel's ports without any reason.
Roland Athre, the company representative, told a meeting of Jenin municipal council that contacts are still taking place with Israel to release the equipment from its ports. The traffic light project is being done in Jenin as a joint venture between the government of France and the Palestinian Ministry for Planning and International Cooperation.
