Vatican: No recognition of the current status of occupied Jerusalem
Palestine, International, 11/21/1997
The Vatican's foreign minister on Thursday said that the Vatican has not changed its stand concerning occupied Jerusalem and does not recognize the current status in the city.
Interviewed by the Italian daily Dela Serra the Vatican foreign minister said that the recent agreement signed between Vatican and Israel excludes any recognition of the current status of the city of Jerusalem.
The Minister added that November 10 agreement with Israel is only to complement the agreement signed between the two sides on May 30, 1993 concerning Israel with its 1948 internationally recognized borders.
