Oman seeks peaceful solution to dipute over islands

Omani Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Yusuf Bin Alawi Bin Abdallah, commenting on Iran-GCC relations, said, "This Island dispute between UAE and Iran should be settled peacefully in view of the joint interests binding both countries." The UAE and Iran both claim possession of three Gulf islands, which have been a source of friction between the two nations.
