Canadian companies sign contracts with Iraq

Official sources said that 22 Canadian businessmen recently signed in Baghdad a number of commercial agreements with the Iraqi government.
The same sources added that the Canadians were greatly surprised by these agreements, and hadn't determined yet whether it will take the side of the companies and submit the contracts to the UN for ratification.
The contracts included the export of medical equipment, among which are 2,000 ambulances, 50 escalators and 30,000 electric lamps in addition to medicine and repair materials for operating rooms.
One of the companies has also signed a contract to export 100,000 tons of rice, 300,000 tons of sweet potatos, and 6,000 Holstein dairy cows.
