Arab states focus on Islamic summit as opposed Doha
Regional, Politics, 11/18/1997

ArabicNews.com was informed that a delegation of Moroccan officials paid a visit to Iran last week in order to prepare for King Hassan's second visit to Tehran during the Islamic summit to take place December 9-11.

An official source said that Iranian leadership would greatly prefer that the Moroccan monarch attend the summit himself.

Jordanian sources said that King Hussein will participate in the Islamic summit accompanied by a delegation of his senior officials headed by Prime Minister Abdel Salam El Majali.

All the states that boycotted the Doha conference are attempting to participate by sending senior officials as a response to Israel and her friends. Iraq also informed Iran of her participation but it said nothing about President Saddam Hussein's attendance.
