Meguid inaugurates 4th conference of the Arab Tongue

The secretary-general of the Arab League, Dr. Esmat Abdel Meguid, inaugurated today the 4th annually conference of the Arab Tongue (language) Association. Experts in the Arabic language from the Arab world will attend the conference, which is going to discuss the status of the Arabic language in the upcoming century.
The conference will also discuss 53 theses presented by experts and university professors working in the field of the Arabic language from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, Sudan, Oman and Algeria.
The theses tackle the subjects of the Arabic language through the different ages, the Arabic language and the Arab identity, the language and education, translation and transliteration. The conference will also study means of inserting all the idioms and expressions of the different fields in computers.
High-profile representatives from the Arab Language Association, the Arab League and Al Azhar University are attending the conference.
