Queen of the Netherlands in Cairo next Monday
Egypt, Politics, 11/13/1997

Queen Beatrice of the Netherlands will pay Cairo an official visit next Monday. The visit comes in response to an official invitation by the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and his spouse Susan Mubarak. The Queen will be accompanied by her husband, Prince Klaus. This is the first visit by the Queen to Egypt since her coronation in 1980.

A source in the Embassy of the Netherlands in Cairo stated that the itineraries of the visit include visiting tourist sites and the Institute of Water in Al Qanater Al Khayria as the Netherlands contributed in setting up many water resources projects in Egypt.

The sources added that the Queen and President Mubarak will discuss the developments of the peace process and the role played by the Netherlands in supporting this process.
