Qatari delegation embarks on tour of 12 African nations
Qatar, Politics, 11/11/1997
A Qatari delegation from the Foreign Ministry headed by ambassador Abdulrahman bin Hamad al-Attiyah has started a tour in the African continent where it will visit 12 countries.
In a pre-departure statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), al-Attiyah said his tour was aimed at shoring up relations between Qatar and the African states. He said there was a genuine Qatari desire to boost diplomatic cooperation between Qatar and these African countries--namely Morocco, Senegal, Gambia, Cameron, Niger, Chad, Gabon, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Uganda, Mozambique and Benin--and expanding the Qatari presence in Africa in various domains, especially the trading and economic fields.
