Egyptian food to Iraq

The General Food Trade Company in Iraq signed an agreement with an Egyptian private-sector company specializing in food canning, through which the Iraqi company will import food worth $2.1 million within the second phase of the oil-for-food agreement which Iraq signed with the UN.
The director of the exporting department of the Egyptian Trade Center in Iraq--which represents the Arab Company for Foreign Trade--Essam Al Khashab said that the new contract calls for the export of 3000 tons of Egyptian white beans to Iraq.
He added that it is expected that with this contract, the total deals signed between Egyptian private and public sector companies and Iraq are worth $46.5 million within the oil-for-food agreement.
