Palestinian-Lebanese discussions
Lebanon-Palestine, Politics, 11/11/1997

Presided by Foreign Minister Fares Boueiz and the president of the political section of the P.L.O., Faruk Kaddumi, Lebanese-Palestinian discussions were held yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The two sides agreed that the negotiations with Israel failed to make significant progress because of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's refusal to abide by international agreements. Kaddumi also added that the boycott of the Mena conference to be held in Qatar isn't specifically against Qatar but because of the conference's connotations.

"The conference was publicized in the Middle East during a tour by U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and aims at normalizing Arab-Israeli ties and making Arabs who attend look submissive in the world's eyes," he said.
