69 female candidates in Moroccan legislative elections for first time

For the first time in any Moroccan vote since independence, 69 women will participate in the legislative election due to be held on November 14. This figure is the highest for female participation in the election since Morocco's independence.
Meanwhile, the number of candidates allowed to participate in the election reached 3319. The Independence Party, an opposition party, topped the list of parties with the greatest number of candidates as the number of its candidates reached 322.
