Monitoring committee's meeting
Lebanon, Politics, 11/5/1997
The five-nation monitoring committee urged the fighters in the South to avoid civilian casualties, after a meeting in Naqqoura yesterday.
The meeting took place after the Israelis filed a complaint over the wounding of a Lebanese woman in the Resistance's attack of Rihan, last Sunday. The Syrian and the Lebanese representatives protested when Israel displayed, during the meeting, a videotape of Resistance operation that had nothing to do with the complaint.
Sources also claimed that the monitoring committee, annoyed with repeated Israeli complaints over the death of Lebanese civilians, has asked Israel to limit its demands to the serious cases only.
