The International Court of Justice will return a verdict in its deliberations over the Lockerbie dispute between Libya and the US and Britain by early March, the Nando Times reported.
Esmat Abdel-Meguid, secretary general of the Arab League backed the UAE's sovereignty claims on the issue of three islands whose ownership is disputed with Iran. Meguid said the issue should be referred to the International Court of Justice, according to a Khaleej Times report.

The parliament receives today the draft law for the mayoral and municipal elections for discussion, after president Elias Hrawi has signed it. The new law was accepted by the cabinet during its meeting last Wednesday. The parliamentary committees are expected to modify some controversial clauses, specially those related to appointments.
