President Yasser Arafat dismissed rumors that he is ill, according the the Israeli Haaretz newspaper. Arafat was reported to have had a fainting episode which resulted in a brief hospital stay. Arafat said that Israel was behind the reports, Haaretz said. Go

Secessionists on the breakaway Comoran island of Anjouan intend to establish a government, according to a CNN report. Comoros' government sent troops to Anjouan in early September in a failed bid to use military force to stop the island from seceding. Go

Two members of the Israeli-supported South Lebanon Army were killed by a roadside bomb while driving near Jezzine, Fox News reported. Go
