12 killed in Algeria

12 people were killed in bombings and assaults in Algeria over the past 5 days, including 5 killed by a bomb on the day Algeria held local elections, an Algerian paper reported Thursday.
The five were killed by a bomb in Ghrira town in the eastern province of Tebessa when Algerians cast ballots to elect local authorities, "La Liberte" paper said.
A bomb exploded near a mosque on Saturday, killing one worshiper and wounding several in Ain Fezza, a small town in the western province of Tlemcen some 250 miles from Algiers, "La Liberte" said.
