Qatari-Japanese talks

Qatari Minister of Industry and Energy Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah and his accompanying delegation met in Tokyo yesterday with the vice president of the Japanese Exports-Imports Bank to discuss ways of boosting cooperation in matters of common interest, the official QNA said.
The Qatari minister lauded the support extended to Qatar's gas project by the Japanese government, concerned institutions and the Exports-Imports Bank.
Mr. Al-Attiyah, who is also chairman of the board of Qatar General Petroleum Company (QGPC), and his accompanying delegation also met with the Japanese National Oil Company president to discuss oil and gas cooperation.
So far, twenty-three shipments of Qatari liquefied natural gas (LNG) have been exported to Japan from January, 1997 when the exports began in September.
