Al Kikhya's lawyer does not rule out Libyan and US involvement in his disappearance
Libya, International, 10/28/1997
Bahaa Al Kikhya, wife of the Libyan dissident Mansour Al Kikhya will arrive in Cairo. Al Kikhya had disappeared 4 years ago while he was in Cairo.
Bahaa Al Kikhya will try to get information while she is in Cairo on the circumstances of her husband's disappearance in which the CIA claims that Egyptians were involved before they handed him to Libya. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry denied what the CIA said after the US media focused on the involvement of Egypt in Al Kikhya's disappearance.
Bahaa Al Kikhya's visit to Egypt comes after she visited Libya last September during which she met with a high official in the Libyan Intelligence Service, Moussa Kosa to inquire about what the CIA said about her husband's appearance.
Meanwhile, the Court of Appeals in Cairo is scheduled to convene on November 29 to study the suit filed by Bahaa Al Kikhya to get compensation from the Egyptian Minister of Interior for his negligence for her husband's protection.
The Court of Appeal in Cairo allowed Al Khekia's lawyer to get from the General Department of Egyptian passports an official photocopy of the movement of Youssef Saleh Negm in Egypt. The decision was issued within the Court's procedure of Al Kikhya's case.
Al Kikhya's lawyer did not rule out that Negm could be an agent of the Libyan Intelligence Service or an agent of the CIA, he thinks that Negm might have kidnapped Al Kikhya with their help. He added that the basis of this belief is that Al Kikhya had strong ties with the Americans but these ties deteriorated before his disappearance as he refused to attend a conference organized by the Libyan opposition in the USA in 1993.
