UAE: trade surplus with Gulf Cooperation Council countries
United Arab Emirates, Economics, 10/25/1997
The UAE achieved a surplus in its trade balance with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries worth 255 million dirhams last year compared to a 365 million dirham deficit in 1995.
The improvement is due to an increase in the UAE's exports to Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait. The imports of the UAE from these countries also increased as they reached 94.98 million dirham last year compared to 86.20 million dirham in 1995.
