$450 million trade deficit in 6 month

The deficit in the Sudanese trade balance amounted to $450 million US during last six months of the current budget. Osman El Hadi Ibrahim, minister of foreign trade for the National Islamic Front (NIF) government, attributed the deficit to the shortage of exports and expansion of imports.
He said the economic liberalization policy implemented by the state has not decreased the amount of imported goods. He said that some banks suffer from disorder and aren't committed to the regulations issued by the bank of Sudan, Al Khartoum daily said today.
